recognizer integration via MRCP

Hi people!

I'm just starting with Prophecy and I was wondering if somebody else already managed to integrate an external TTS or ASR resource via MRCP.

I've read that Prophecy supports the MRCP standard (which is very good, as this makes it possible to integrate other text-to-speech- and recognition-engines) but I didn't find any hint in the documentation how to actually do this..

in detail: I am trying to get Prophecy working with the Nuance recognizer and voices from Loquendo, Rhetorical or the Nuance Vocalizer (everything in german).

At the moment I've installed the MRCP server from Nuance and the Nunace recognizer and vocalizer. The Nuance services are configured correctly and work per se, but I have no idea how to integrate them into Prophecy.

Any input to achive this goal would be appreciated. If I find out something more, I also will post it here..

It Just Worked...

That's a very interesting question, and I don't know the answer. When I used Prophecy and Microsoft's TTS, it just worked -- no configuration necessary.

If you don't get a response sometimes soon from one of our readers, you might ask Voxeo directly.

I'm a frenchie and I would like to have a french tts in my voxeo prophecy. I heard that it was possible by adding an external tts engine such as realspeak. I tried with realspeak but the thing is that it's hard configuring prophecy then. You said you used prophecy with microsoft's tts without configuring My questions are : which software is it exactly ? Does it offer a french synthesis and is there any trial version ? ( I'm a student doing a training so...) Thank you for your reply

It seems that I've already made some steps in the right direction but I still have another problem with the VXML browser.

I am investigating this and the MRCP issue with voxeo's support team and you will hear from me if I have some news.

No MRCP for TTS at the moment

One short update: Currently P2006 doesn't support MRTC for TTS integration as there exists no MRCP client for TTS yet. This is a little bit disappointing, but they are working on it (told me Voxeo's support team).
But you can use any SAPI TTS and all engines which are supported directly (Speechify 2, Speechify 3, RealSpeak 4, Rhetorical and maybe in some time also Loquendo).
