A "shadow variable" is a variable that lets you examine (and sometimes change) the some of the more complex information about VoiceXML results. For example, the "confidence level" of a recognition result is a shadow variable, and so are the alternative results of recognition.

In this section, we list both shadow variables for VoiceXML, and some of the more obscure result codes for CCXML and VoiceXML.
